It’s the age-old question: how could Hello Kitty become any more terrifying?
If she came in the form of an assault rifle.

Hey there Project Runway fans, remember this fabulous designer from Season 3?

Well now you can follow Laura’s adventures as a superhero who helps solves women’s fashion dilemmas. The hilariously awesome guys over at Project Rungay broke the story, and they have a sneak preview of Robert Best’s art for the strip. Definitely no “serious ugly” going on here.
Keep your eyes peeled for the official mid-December launch of the strip on iVillage, and the free downloadable paper dolls. I personally find iVillage a bit obnoxious, but I adore Laura and fully plan on collecting those paper dolls.
Greenpeace is now letting internet users like you vote for the perfect name for a glorious new Humpback Whale.
The name that that’s winning by a landslide? Mr. Splashy Pants. For realsies.
The vote has been extended until December 7th, so don’t miss your chance to choose a name for our new whale friend!
Kids, I think that the TMNT officially have their fifth junior member:
NORRISTOWN, Pa. – A pet store has bought a two-headed turtle from a collector and plans to keep it on display, the store manager said. The 2-month-old turtle, actually conjoined red-eared slider twins, fits on a silver dollar.

I predict that this will be the most awesome ninja turtle EVER.

And that would be artist Mark Newport.
I was reading about this exhibit, when I had to stop and go “Wait…is that a Fantastic Four uniform in the background?”
Yes, it is. And it’s all hand knitted.
Check out this previous exhibit Newport had in Seattle, with several hand knitted superhero costumes. The Captain America one is pretty sweet:

I’m also in love with this print, and this photograph of Spider-man knitting his costume is so charming that almost kind of wish that it were canonical.
Newsarama’s latest Up & Coming featured Star St. Germain, a multimedia artist who, among many other things, also draws comics. Newsarama’s interview can be found here.
Do yourself a favor and go check out more of Star’s work at her homepage, www.thisisstar.com. I really love her subtle use of color, and how the playful narratives of her illustrations are a bit reminiscent of pin-up art. But all of her work is really quite delightful, so go take a look and see for yourself.
Look! Up in the right hand corner of your screen!
Is it a star? Is it a cookie?
No! It’s our mascot, GWOG, the woman that time forgot!
Selected from an extremely competitive field of applicants and drawn by the fabulous KatieM, GWOG exists here in a larger version for your downloading delight.
I would be referring to this lovely helmet, made by Michelle Valigura for The Vader Project. More helmets can be found in CBR’s Comic-Con Photo Parade.
