This piece is both the first we were given and the catalyst for the auction. A few months ago, one of the Girl-Wonder admins got an email from an artist who, we learned, is a fan of our site. He had recently been introduced as the artist on a new series, and his work was immensely popular among the feminist comics community; he was contacting us to express his gratitude for the support for his work that he’d seen on the G-W forums and to ask if he could do a drawing for us, which he suggested that we might auction as a fund raiser.

After stammering a bit, we picked up our jaws from the floor and informed Renato Guedes that we would be more than happy to accept such a gift.

The starting bid for this piece will be U.S. $70.
